Day 9 - part 3 - Oak Creek Canyon - Look Out Point

The triumphant rider at the top of the days climb.
View down the valley.
The switchbacks...
A little better perspective of the switchbacks.
After the break at the top of the climb we had a rolling ride through pine forest to Flagstaff. About a mile to go, the San Francisco Peaks come into view, including Humphrey's Peak, elevation 12,633 ft, highest point in Arizona.
Fortunately we are not going there. Flagstaff is listed at 6905' elevation. We had come up from around 5000' in Cottonwood. Not bad for a days work.

Today is Sunday, our first rest day. The guides set up a cleaning station so we could get the road grit off our bikes. We are also doing laundry, and mailing stuff back home that we now realize we don't need and it just makes packing and unpacking more difficult.

Ciao Ron
