Santa Fe to Las Vegas NM, a perfect day

The ride started out climbing slowly towards the south and east, towards Pecos NM. Just after the site of the ruins I stopped at this spot to take it all in. The moon was visible to the naked eye in the center of the sky. Unfortunately not clear in this picture.
Stopped at a turn to look back where we had come from. I'm pretty sure that that is the other side of the mountains we could see from Santa Fe. When we were being rained on Friday, it snowed on the peaks.
Another view back a little further on.
Just about a mile on, you could see a long way forward. At this point my computer said 39 miles. It was at 55 when we were abreast of the flat topped formation in the upper left of the picture.
Our SAG for the day was at this spot that does not look like it is in business!
The rest of the ride was rolling hills into Las Vegas NM. What a pleasure a sunny day can be with beautiful scenery. This was the dream ride after several rough ones. This was one to be savored.

Tomorrow 109 miles to Tucumcari. Musical reference Little Feat's song "Willing".
